BUDGAM: As part of the Pulse Polio Immunisation campaign, the district administration Budgam has set an ambitious target to cover more than 1.21 lakh children across the district to safeguard them against polio.
Officials said the campaign aims to immunise all children in the age group of 0 to 5 years through an extensive network of vaccination booths and mobile teams. Special arrangements have been made to reach children in remote and hard-to-access areas to ensure that no child is left out.
The health department, in coordination with district administration, has mobilised healthcare workers, volunteers and supervisory staff to conduct the drive smoothly. Awareness activities have also been intensified to encourage parents to bring their children for vaccination.
Authorities urged parents and guardians to actively participate in the campaign and ensure that every eligible child receives polio drops, reiterating that timely immunisation is crucial for maintaining the district’s polio-free status.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to the success of the Pulse Polio programme and called for collective support from the community to make the campaign effective.
