NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana for a six-year period, targeting 100 districts with an annual allocation of ₹24,000 crore.
Announced in the Union Budget, the scheme aims to integrate 36 existing agricultural initiatives to promote crop diversification and sustainable farming practices.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the programme will focus on enhancing post-harvest storage, expanding irrigation infrastructure, and boosting overall farm productivity.
An estimated 1.7 crore farmers are expected to benefit from the scheme.
