Chandigarh: At just 15 years old, Chandigarh’s Ribhav Saroha has etched his name in the history books by becoming the All India No. 1 in the Under-16 tennis category. He is the first player born and trained entirely in Chandigarh to reach the top of the national rankings.

Ribhav trains at the MS Star Tennis Academy under the guidance of Marco Seruca, a former Portuguese Davis Cup player and seasoned international coach. With nearly five hours of training each day, Ribhav’s dedication to the sport is evident.

“Some days I do three hours in the morning and two in the evening; other times it’s a full five-hour stretch, depending on the schedule Marco sir gives me,” says Ribhav.

Marco, an ITF-certified coach with decades of global experience, has been instrumental in shaping Ribhav’s game. His coaching approach emphasizes comprehensive development—technique, fitness, mental resilience, and smart tournament planning.

“He’s been with us the longest,” Marco noted. “With continued discipline and the right opportunities, I believe Ribhav has the potential to become one of India’s best.”

Ribhav attributes much of his growth to the European-style training framework introduced by Marco.
“I’m really glad I found Marco sir. His methods have helped me improve significantly. I hope to keep this form going and transition smoothly into the men’s circuit,” he said.

Behind Ribhav’s journey is the strong support of his parents, Nagender Saroha and Dr. Saroj Saroha, who have stood by him every step of the way.
