ChatGPT Down Again: Mobile, Web, and WhatsApp Bot Users Affected

ChatGPT is experiencing widespread outages on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, impacting users across web, mobile, and the WhatsApp bot. OpenAI has confirmed the issue on its support page, marking the latest disruption this month.

The support page indicates a ChatGPT login degradation, preventing many users from accessing their accounts. Additionally, the WhatsApp ChatGPT bot, which allows broader access, is also facing connectivity issues.

What’s Causing the Outage?

Reports of the ChatGPT outage began appearing on Downdetector from 9:30 AM IST, primarily affecting web and mobile logins. The WhatsApp bot issue was first reported around 8:35 AM IST, and OpenAI is actively working on a fix.

According to Downdetector, over 65% of users are affected, with 24% reporting problems on the web and 9% unable to log in via the mobile app. The outages are being reported across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata.

With access to web, mobile, and the WhatsApp bot disrupted, millions of users are temporarily unable to use the AI chatbot platform. One of the largest outages occurred on August 21, when thousands faced similar access issues for work and other needs.
