ANANTNAG: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday visited various areas of Anantnag town and other flood-affected parts of South Kashmir to assess the damage caused by recent heavy rains.
He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Advisor to the CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Cabinet Ministers Javed Rana and Sakina Itoo, and legislators including Altaf Kaloo, Majeed Larmi, Dr. Bashir Veeri, Reyaz Khan, and Zafar Khattana. Officials from the district administration, including Deputy Commissioner Syed Farahuddin, also joined the visit.




During the inspection, the Chief Minister interacted with affected families and evaluated the impact on homes, roads, and public infrastructure. He assured that all necessary measures would be taken to provide relief and support to those affected.
CM Omar Abdullah visited Mehdi Kadal, Deva Colony, Ashagipora Bridge, and other areas to review the damage firsthand. He directed the district administration to expedite restoration works and ensure essential supplies reach affected communities promptly.
Sources said that the Chief Minister will later chair a meeting with district officials at Dak Banglow Anantnag to review the situation and issue further instructions.
