Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo Reviews Developmental Progress, Inaugurates Sewa Parv Mela in Baramulla

BARAMULLA: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo conducted an extensive visit to Baramulla today to review the district’s overall developmental scenario. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa, Director School Education, Director RDD, and other senior officials.

The visit began with the inauguration of the Sewa Parv Mela at Dak Bungalow Baramulla, held as part of the ongoing nationwide Sewa Parv campaign. The Chief Secretary inspected stalls set up by departments including Health, Education, Social Welfare, ICDS, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Rural Development, where citizens were provided on-the-spot services, guidance, and information about various government schemes and welfare initiatives.

During the Mela, Atal Dulloo distributed sanction letters under Mission YUVA and in agriculture and allied sectors, offering direct support to young entrepreneurs, farmers, and self-help groups. He also handed over keys of retrofitted scooters to persons with disabilities and nutritional kits to TB patients, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive development and empowerment of all sections of society.

Following the Mela, the Chief Secretary chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Dak Bungalow, focusing on ongoing projects, status of government schemes, and other key initiatives across sectors such as Public Works (PWD), Health, Education, Power, and Agriculture. The Deputy Commissioner presented a detailed overview of the district’s developmental landscape.

Addressing the officers, Atal Dulloo emphasized the saturation and effective implementation of key Centrally and UT-sponsored schemes, highlighting that timely execution is crucial for strengthening livelihoods and delivering tangible benefits to citizens. He also noted that while significant investments have been made in health, education, and other sectors, the priority must now shift towards enhancing service delivery to ensure meaningful improvements for the people.

The visit concluded with the Chief Secretary, along with the Deputy Commissioner, DIG North Kashmir, and senior officers, participating in a plantation drive at the Dak Bungalow premises as part of the Sewa Parv campaign.
