CM Omar Abdullah Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Strengthening Sainik School Manasbal

MANASBAL (GANDERBAL): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today attended the Annual Day celebrations of Sainik School Manasbal, reaffirming his government’s unwavering support towards enhancing the institution’s educational standards and infrastructure.

Extending his greetings to the staff, students, and dignitaries, the Chief Minister expressed joy at revisiting the school after many years, reminiscing about his fond memories associated with it. He lauded the school’s remarkable contribution to nurturing discipline, character, and excellence, describing it as one of Jammu and Kashmir’s premier educational institutions.

“Sainik School Manasbal has produced men of honour who have served the nation with distinction — in the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and civil administration. The school’s legacy of excellence speaks for itself,” Omar Abdullah remarked.

Highlighting the government’s focus on quality education, the Chief Minister — who also serves as Chairman of the Governing Body of Sainik School Manasbal — emphasized the need to equip students with modern facilities to meet the challenges of competitive examinations and professional life.

“We are committed to ensuring that schools like Sainik School Manasbal are upgraded with state-of-the-art infrastructure. Our aim is to introduce new initiatives that will benefit both the school and its students,” he said.

Announcing developmental measures, the Chief Minister revealed plans to modernize the school’s sports ground with the installation of synthetic turf for football and athletics, assuring continued government assistance to strengthen the institution’s growth.

Commending the school’s vibrant academic and cultural environment, Omar Abdullah said Sainik School Manasbal stands as a model of discipline, dedication, and holistic education.

“Here, teachers inspire and guide students beyond the classroom, shaping responsible and confident citizens. This institution truly represents excellence and integrity,” he noted.

Urging students to strive for leadership and service, the Chief Minister added,

“Let Sainik School Manasbal continue to symbolize excellence, discipline, and integrity — nurturing future leaders of Jammu and Kashmir with courage and conviction.”

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Education Sakina Itoo highlighted the transformative power of education and paid tribute to Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, founder of Sainik School Manasbal.

“Institutions like Sainik School Manasbal embody his vision — providing quality education and opportunity to children from all backgrounds, especially the underprivileged,” she said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister took the salute at the ceremonial March Past presented by the cadets and inaugurated an Art and Science Exhibition, showcasing students’ creativity and innovation.

The event was attended by MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi, Secretary School Education Ram Niwas, Director General School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore, SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal, Principal Manzoor Ahmed Najar, besides officers, staff, students, and parents.
