Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected villages in Kathua district and met with residents who lost their homes in the disaster, officials said.
The Chief Minister also chaired a meeting with officers, instructing them to provide all necessary relief to the affected population.
During his visit, Abdullah interacted with residents of Duggain village in Billawar, whose homes were damaged in the recent floods. Later, he convened a meeting with district administration officials, the Chief Minister’s office said in a post on X.
Abdullah assured residents of full support and directed officials to expedite relief efforts. He is also scheduled to visit the Mahore area in Reasi district to assess the impact of recent flash floods.
