SRINAGAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, today held a series of meetings with public delegations at the Rabita Office, Gupkar, and listened to their demands and grievances.
A delegation of Cooperative Department employees raised the issue of pay disparity with the executive staff, to which the Advisor assured a sympathetic review.
The JKAS aspirants sought permanent restoration of the open merit upper age limit to 37 years, as followed in other States and UTs. The Advisor assured them that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities.


Representatives from New Colony, Summerbugh, highlighted the rehabilitation of 51 families and lack of basic amenities. The Advisor assured that necessary steps will be initiated to address their concerns.
A delegation of dragon boat athletes led by Shafqat Watali also called on the Advisor and flagged several issues related to water sports.
Later, the All Kashmir Wholesale Mutton Dealers Union, led by its General Secretary, sought urgent intervention to curb extortion of livestock transit trucks in Punjab, which has been affecting Kashmiri traders. The Advisor assured the delegation that the issue will be raised with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, the Advisor said that timely redress of public issues remains a priority and every effort is being made to ensure responsive and accountable governance in the Union Territory.
