New Delhi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi met Lieutenant General Marek Arkadiusz Sokolowski, General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, to discuss ways to enhance defence cooperation on the sidelines of the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries Chiefs’ Conclave (UNTCC) in New Delhi.

In a post on X on Friday, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) said the talks focused on strengthening defence ties, fostering military exchanges, and improving coordination in UN peacekeeping operations.

“On the sidelines of #UNTCC2025, #GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS, engaged in a productive discussion with Lieutenant General Marek Arkadiusz Sokolowski, General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces. The interaction underscored a shared commitment to deepen defence cooperation, promote military exchanges, and enhance coordination in UN peacekeeping efforts,” the ADGPI stated.

The UNTCC, hosted by India, brought together military leaders from across the world to deliberate on global security challenges and explore avenues to strengthen cooperation in maintaining peace and stability.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, addressing the conclave, reaffirmed India’s commitment to upholding the “rules-based international order,” noting that some nations continue to undermine established global norms.

“Countries across the world now recognise that peace is vital for development, growth, and prosperity. India, a founding signatory of the UN Charter, embodies the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family,” he said.

Earlier, General Dwivedi highlighted that hosting the conference in India was both a privilege and a reaffirmation of the shared resolve to strengthen cooperation and advance the mission of global peace. “It reflects India’s ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family — and Vishwa Bandhu, meaning India as a friend to all,” he said.

The UNTCC Chiefs’ Conclave, held in New Delhi from October 14 to 16, 2025, saw the participation of senior military leaders from over 30 nations.
