Kashmir continues to reel under a severe cold wave as temperatures dipped further across the Valley, extending the spell of freezing nights and icy mornings. Weather officials said most places recorded a sharp fall in minimum temperatures, with several stations staying well below the freezing point.

The cold conditions have led to frost formation in many areas, while water supply lines in higher reaches reported partial freezing. Residents in Srinagar and other towns stepped up the use of traditional heating methods as the chill tightened its grip.

According to the Meteorological Department, the prevailing cold wave is expected to continue for the next few days, with no major change in weather patterns predicted immediately. Officials said the Valley may experience colder nights as clear skies allow temperatures to drop further.

Authorities have advised people, especially the elderly and children, to take precautions against the intense cold. Health officials have also urged residents to ensure adequate heating and avoid exposure during early morning and late evening hours.
