BIJBEHARA: Commissioner Secretary of the Social Welfare Department (SWD), Sarmad Hafeez, today conducted a visit to Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) under the Poshan Project in Bijbehara.
During the visit, he engaged with the staff and reviewed the implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes. The District Programme Officer briefed him on the progress of key initiatives, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP). Discussions also highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups for Poshan beneficiaries, which play a vital role in monitoring nutritional health.
The Commissioner Secretary urged officers and officials to ensure effective on-ground implementation of these schemes. Special attention was given to reviving and strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) across all Anganwadi Centers, aiming to provide a solid foundation for young children. He also interacted with beneficiaries during the visit and gathered their feedback.
