Doda:As part of its ongoing outreach and efforts to assist the local population, the Indian Army at Bhaderwah organized a Medical and Veterinary Camp at Padri Sarekhi, Bhaderwah, on 09 July 2025. This initiative was specifically designed to address the healthcare needs of the local population, with a special focus on the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities and their livestock.
The camp was inaugurated by the Company Commander, who assured the locals of the Army’s unconditional and enduring support. A dedicated medical team was deployed for the camp, comprising one Medical Officer, two Nursing Assistants and two Battlefield Nursing Assistants from the Army, along with one Lady Medical Officer and one Pharmacist from Sub-District Hospital Dandi, and one Veterinary Doctor from the Government Hospital.
Together, they provided essential medical care to men, women, children, the elderly, and livestock. Project Sadbhavana’s Medical and Veterinary Camp brought smiles to numerous faces, exemplifying the spirit of compassion and community service. This initiative not only improved the health and well-being of the people and their animals but also strengthened the bond between the local communities and the Indian Army. A large number of patients from nearby villages attended the camp for medical check-ups.
The camp was meticulously organized with all necessary arrangements, including a variety of medicines, medical equipment and examination facilities. Wide publicity was given to ensure maximum participation from the local population. During the camp, a total of 267 patients were treated, including 133 women, 78 men, 56 children and 136 livestock.
The local population expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for their dedicated efforts and for bringing much-needed medical assistance to their doorstep in the remote area of Sarekhi. Additionally, the Army also provided valuable information on health, nutrition and child care to parents, aiming to raise medical awareness among the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities.
