NEW DELHI, Nov 16: The Congress party has announced that it will hold a meeting of top office-bearers from 12 states and Union Territories where the Special Summary Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll is currently underway. The meeting aims to review the progress of the SIR process and discuss strategies to ensure comprehensive voter registration and participation.
Party officials said the gathering will focus on identifying gaps in the electoral roll, addressing issues faced by voters during the revision process, and coordinating efforts to increase awareness about voter registration. Leaders from the concerned states and UTs will share reports from their respective regions and deliberate on measures to strengthen the party’s outreach to eligible voters.
The Congress leadership emphasized that the meeting is an important step to ensure that all eligible citizens are included in the electoral roll and to facilitate smooth conduct of future elections. The party also aims to streamline internal coordination and enhance engagement with grassroots workers to support the SIR process effectively.
