Jammu: Police on Saturday detained an alleged habitual offender under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.
The accused, identified as Madan Lal from Gali Kotwali in Chenani tehsil, was reportedly involved in several criminal activities, with multiple cases registered against him in the district, a police spokesperson said.
Describing Lal as a habitual offender whose repeated unlawful acts endangered public peace and order, the spokesperson said authorities took preventive action under the PSA on the orders of the district magistrate.
He has been shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, police added.
