REASI: Crop insurance week celebration commenced today in District Reasi under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The celebration was launched here from Panchayat Sirah Kotla block Panthal and attended by 50 farmers.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Harbans Singh and District Coordinator, Ankit Khajuria of Reliance General Insurance Company were also present.
The CAO gave detailed information about PMFBY Crop Insurance which was started for the first time in the District Reasi.
He said the scheme has become a beacon of hope for the agriculture community, providing them with much-needed financial protection in times of distress. He said under PMFBY, the farmers can avail insurance coverage of Rs 60000 for maize crop and Rs 75000 for paddy crop by premium deduction of Rs 1200 and Rs 1500 per hectare.
He further elaborated that it has not only provided financial security to the farmers but has also instilled confidence in them to explore new avenues and modern Agriculture practices.
The District Coordinator also presented a detailed scheme through PPT mode to farmers in the presence of concerned Sarpanches and PRI members.
