UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, convened a review meeting to address the pressing concerns affecting students at the Government Nursing College Udhampur.
The meeting brought together officers from relevant departments to find comprehensive solutions aimed at enhancing student welfare.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh and senior officers from various departments.
During the meeting, the DC took note of the significant issues raised by the students, which included Lack of a proper and safe drinking water supply, Absence of a fully operational library with book issuance services, Shortage of adequate teaching and support staff, the need for an on-campus canteen, Unreliable transportation services for commuting between GNC and the District Hospital etc.
ARTO Udhampur was tasked with arranging a dedicated and reliable transportation service to ensure the safe and timely commute of students.
Jal Shakti Department was instructed to collect water samples and conduct quality checks to guarantee the availability of safe drinking water for students and staff.
Principal GMC was directed to deploy the necessary staff to GNC Udhampur to fill existing vacancies and improve academic support.
DC assured the students that all concerns raised during the meeting would be escalated to higher authorities for swift intervention and resolution.
