DC inaugurates NCD Screening campaign in Poonch

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal inaugurated the National level Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Screening and Tuberculosis (TB) campaign here today.

 The campaign aims at detecting non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and oral and cervical cancers. A medical camp has been set up at Bus Stand and the screening will continue till March 31, 2025.

At the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged the community to participate in large numbers to take advantage of the free screenings and treatment. He emphasized the importance of early detection and urged health authorities to maximize outreach efforts to ensure comprehensive coverage.

During the camp, free medication was provided to attendees, addressing vital health concerns within the district.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan highlighted that similar camps have been organized across Poonch, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to public health.

A dedicated team of doctors and health staff is present at the camp, ready to assist and educate the public about managing and preventing these diseases effectively.
