DC Jammu reviews development works, flood damage in Pargwal, assures relief

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, visited the Pargwal area on Tuesday to review ongoing developmental works and assess flood damage. He also distributed relief material among affected families and assured a comprehensive reconstruction plan for damaged infrastructure.

Public meetings were held at Pargwal, Gurha Manhasa, and Haripur Kona, attended by MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat, where residents raised issues of damaged roads, broken bridges, inadequate healthcare facilities, disrupted water supply, and the demand for new bore wells. The meetings provided a platform for direct interaction between locals and officials.

Addressing the gatherings, Dr. Minhas reiterated the administration’s commitment to sustainable development and systematic recovery.

Later, he conducted ground inspections of flood-hit areas, reviewed the status of the Indri Pattan Bridge, and assured its early completion. He also prioritized evaluation of essential supplies and the relief distribution system.

Senior officers including Additional Deputy Commissioner Ansuya Jamwal, SDM Satish Sharma, Tehsildar Manjeet Singh, and other district officials accompanied him during the visit.
