JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Jammu and District Election Officer, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, today chaired a meeting of Nodal Officers to review the preparedness for the bye-election to the 77-Nagrota Assembly Constituency.
The meeting focused on finalizing the action plan and assigning specific responsibilities to ensure smooth and efficient conduct of the electoral process.
Deputy District Election Officer, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, has been designated as the Returning Officer and will oversee the overall management of the polls.
Addressing the officers, Dr. Minhas stressed the need for meticulous planning and coordination among all departments to ensure that the bye-election is conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Sher Singh, ADC Ansuya Jamwal, Deputy Director Information Ashu Kumari, Tehsildars, and other concerned officers.
The bye-election for the Nagrota Assembly Constituency is scheduled to be held on November 11, 2025.
