DC Kishtwar reviews progress of work on PWD Projects

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan took a comprehensive review of the progress of Public Works Department (PWD) projects across various subdivisions of the district, here at a meeting.

The meeting primarily focused on works taken up under district capex and other schemes. The DC Kishtwar expressed concern over delaying of work completion by certain contractors and emphasised the need for reinforcing accountability and work quality in execution.

The key projects reviewed included the lane work at District Hospital, construction of a library at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), renovation of Government High School Shiroti and others.
During the review, the DC stressed strict adherence to financial expenditure guidelines, and said that notices should be served to contractors for rectification of identified defects.

The Department was asked to give Contractors three-week time to address these issues.

Further, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of achieving 100% progress in both financial expenditure and physical work, with a particular focus on maintaining quality standards across all projects.

The meeting was attended by ExEns besides concerned AEEs and AEs.
