POONCH: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, today chaired a meeting at the DC Office Complex to review the progress of land acquisition for key developmental projects, including NH-144A and the Rajouri–Thanamandi–Surankote (RTS) road.
During the meeting, the DC sought updates on the status of land acquisition, compensation disbursement, pending cases, and departmental liabilities. Officers provided detailed briefings on current progress and measures taken to resolve ongoing issues.
DC Sharma directed officials to expedite the acquisition process, ensure timely resolution of bottlenecks, and strictly adhere to schedules for disbursing land compensation to affected landowners. He also highlighted the need for robust inter-departmental coordination to facilitate smooth project execution.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed concerns raised by executing agencies, including CS Construction Company Ltd. and Patel Engineering Pvt. Ltd., assuring full administrative support. While discussing the Parnaie Hydel Project, he stressed the importance of stringent safety and security measures for workers.
The meeting was attended by SSP Shafket Hussain Bhat, ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik, ACR Mohd. Sayeed, SDMs of Surankote and Mendhar, Collector Land Acquisition (Defence), SE PWD and Hydraulic, Xen PWD (R&B), Xen JPDCL and Transmission, Officer Commanding 79 RCC and 58 RCC, District Mineral Officer, and project managers of the executing companies, along with other concerned officials.
