DC Rajouri launches Ayushman Vay Vandana Drive to provide senior citizens with free healthcare services

RAJOURI: The Health Department of Rajouri today organized an Ayushman Vay Vandana Card Generation Programme at the Town Hall to facilitate registration of senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of their income or financial status.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, inaugurated the programme and interacted with beneficiaries attending the Vay Vandana card registration drive.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana is a key initiative designed to provide free healthcare services to elderly citizens. He emphasized that all eligible senior citizens should be enrolled under the scheme to ensure their health and social security. He also commended the Health Department for its proactive efforts in organizing a smooth and efficient registration process.

The Deputy Commissioner further noted that similar drives are being conducted across the district to achieve 100% coverage under the Ayushman Vay Vandana scheme.

The programme was attended by Chief Planning Officer Maqsood Ahmed, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Manohar Lal Rana, and other district and sectoral officials.

Senior citizens participating in the event expressed their gratitude to the district administration and health authorities for making the service accessible at their doorstep.
