DC Rajouri Reviews Implementation of Health Schemes, Stresses on Preventive Healthcare Awareness

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of various health programmes under the National Health Mission (NHM) and assess the overall functioning of the Health Department in the district.

At the outset, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Manohar Lal Rana presented a detailed report on ongoing activities, key achievements, and challenges faced in delivering quality healthcare services across Rajouri.

The Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of key health indicators, staff availability, infrastructure status, vaccination coverage, and the implementation of flagship schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and other centrally sponsored health initiatives.

He directed officers to ensure effective and transparent execution of all health schemes, with a special focus on improving healthcare access in remote and border areas. He also underlined the need for regular monitoring and timely utilization of funds to achieve better health outcomes.

Emphasizing the importance of preventive healthcare, the DC urged officials to intensify awareness campaigns to promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention among the public.

He further called for strengthening patient care facilities, ensuring adequate supply of medicines and diagnostic services, and fostering inter-departmental coordination to enhance healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Health Department and other concerned officials.
