RAJOURI, DECEMBER 13: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, chaired a meeting of the District Task Force for Immunisation at the Conference Hall of the DC Office to review and finalise arrangements for the upcoming Pulse Polio Immunisation Day in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed that special focus be given to transit points and vulnerable areas, including slums, brick kilns, construction sites, industrial zones and high‑footfall locations such as Abdullah Bridge, Salani, stone crusher belts and children’s parks. He emphasised that no child should be left uncovered during the drive.

Attention was also drawn to residential hostels, including Palash, to ensure complete coverage of all eligible children.

To encourage wider participation, the DC called for intensive publicity through print and electronic media, organisation of awareness rallies ahead of Immunisation Day and the playing of awareness jingles on municipal vehicles. He further instructed the preparation of micro‑plans for vulnerable and hard‑to‑reach areas.

The Deputy Commissioner directed real‑time monitoring of the campaign through the District Control Room, proper training of vaccinators and close coordination among all departments involved.

For smooth operations, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) was asked to ensure adequate transport facilities, while the Traffic Department was tasked with regulating traffic on the day of immunisation.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, the Chief Medical Officer, Tehsildars, Block Medical Officers (BMOs) and other district and sectoral officers, who were instructed to work in close coordination to ensure the successful implementation of the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme across Rajouri.
