RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with SSP Traffic NHW, Raja Adil Hamid, and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak, today inspected ongoing restoration work on National Highway-44 (NH-44) near Nashri, following an overnight mudslide that disrupted traffic on the Srinagar-bound up-tube.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the situation and instructed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) engineers to accelerate clearance operations to restore vehicular movement at the earliest. He emphasized the deployment of sufficient manpower and machinery to remove accumulated debris and mud promptly, minimizing inconvenience to commuters.

SSP Traffic NHW briefed the DC on traffic management measures implemented to ensure smooth movement in both directions and prevent congestion. Meanwhile, the ADC coordinated with local administration, police, and NHAI officials to monitor the situation in real time.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed all concerned agencies to remain on high alert and respond immediately to any further disruptions, given the prevailing weather conditions. He underlined the importance of close coordination among the district administration, NHAI, and traffic authorities to ensure public safety and uninterrupted movement along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway.
