DC Samba assesses progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) – 2.0 survey in district

SAMBA,: Deputy Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma today convened a review meeting to assess the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) – 2.0 survey being undertaken in the district. The meeting aimed to evaluate the survey’s status and ensure its effectiveness in identifying and verifying genuine beneficiaries under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over the slow pace of the survey and emphasized the need for accurate and time-bound completion. He directed the field functionaries and supervisors to complete the survey within a week’s time and cautioned that any laxity would not be tolerated. Furthermore, he instructed that daily progress reports be submitted to the designated nodal officer to facilitate close monitoring.

Stressing the importance of transparency, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the need for proper identification of eligible beneficiaries so that timely benefits under the scheme reach deserving households. He reiterated that due diligence must be maintained at all stages of the process.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Champa Devi Thakur; Chief Planning Officer; Chief Education Officer; District Statistics and Evaluation Officer; Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Samba; and Executive Officers of Municipal Committees Ramgarh, Vijaypur, and Bari Brahmana. All field supervisors and survey staff were also present and were issued on-spot instructions to ensure adherence to guidelines and timelines.

The District Administration Samba reaffirmed its commitment to the successful implementation of PMAY (Urban), aligning with the vision of “Housing for All”.
