DC Srinagar inspects progress on Sanat Nagar Flyover; calls for speedy completion to ease traffic congestion

SRINAGAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, today conducted an onsite inspection to review the progress of the ongoing works on the ₹30 crore Sanat Nagar Flyover project — an 882-meter span infrastructure initiative aimed at decongesting traffic along the city’s busy bypass corridor.

During the inspection, the DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Umar Gulzar, Executive Engineer PC-Ist Nasir Amin, Executive Engineer PDD Syed Wani, Tehsildar Chanpora Kifayat Ali, and other concerned officials.

The DC reviewed the pace and quality of the work and assessed the status of remaining components under execution. He was informed that over 90% of the project has been completed. The approach road from the Chanapora side has already been macadamized and opened for vehicular movement, while finishing work on the Hyderpora side is nearing completion.

Executive Engineer KPDCL briefed the DC that utility shifting has been fully completed, enabling smooth progress of the remaining construction activities.

Emphasizing timely delivery, DC Labroo directed the executing agency to expedite the remaining works to make the flyover fully operational at the earliest. He said the project’s completion will greatly improve traffic movement, reduce congestion, and strengthen connectivity along the Chanapora–Sanat Nagar–Hyderpora bypass corridor, bringing significant relief to commuters and local residents.
