DC, SSP review security at labour camps, inspect key infrastructure projects in Doda

DODA, NOVEMBER 18: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh, accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta, conducted a significant visit to labour camps near Khellani along NH 244.

The visit focused on reviewing the security arrangements at the camps and inspecting the progress of critical infrastructure projects executed by the concerned construction agency.

During the visit, the DC and SSP assessed the living conditions of workers, including the availability of essential facilities such as clean drinking water, sanitation, and adequate housing.

They interacted with the labour force to address their concerns and ensure the implementation of welfare measures.
The DC also evaluated the adherence to safety protocols and directed the construction agency to resolve any deficiencies promptly to ensure a conducive working environment.
DC emphasized on the importance of timely and quality execution of ongoing projects, particularly the NH 244 development, as it is vital for enhancing regional connectivity and boosting economic activity. He reviewed the progress of road construction, alignment works, and other technical aspects of the project.
Additionally, he instructed the concerned agency to maintain environmental sustainability and minimize disruptions to nearby communities during construction.
SSP took stock of the security arrangements at the labour camps and surrounding areas. He directed the agency to enhance coordination with local police to address any potential security concerns and ensure the safety of workers and infrastructure.
The SSP reiterated the need for vigilance, especially in strategically important projects like NH 244, and highlighted the role of law enforcement in maintaining a secure environment for development initiatives.
