UDHAMPUR,: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai presided over a meeting of representatives of various political parties to discuss the revision of the Panchayat Electoral Rolls for 2024, with January 1, 2025, set as the qualifying date.
The meeting featured an in-depth discussion on measures for the upcoming revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll, covering the revised schedule of activities. Key points included the publication of the Draft Panchayat Electoral Roll, the timeline for filing claims and objections and the release of the final Panchayat Electoral Roll.
Stressing the importance of accessibility, the DC directed Block Development Officers to organize special camps at designated polling booth locations in line with the guidelines and schedule issued by the State Election Commission.
These camps are intended to provide easy public access and ensure the accuracy of the electoral roll.
Concerned officers were instructed to implement Information, Education and Communication activities within their respective areas to increase public awareness about the revision process and encourage community participation in updating the electoral roll.
