BARAMULLA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today chaired a District Level Committee (DLC) meeting, during which 1,157 new applications were approved under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).

The approval of these fresh cases has brought the total approved applications in the district to 26,494.
The aim of this meeting was to further support local agriculture, empower rural communities, and provide essential resources while promoting modern farming practices.

During the meeting, DDC also reviewed the district’s financial expenditure for the fiscal year 2024-25. It was reported that 65% of the allocated budget has already been utilized.

The DDC emphasized that there is still 35% of the expenditure remaining and stressed the importance of efficient allocation and timely expenditure in the coming months to ensure that the remaining budget is used effectively for critical projects and schemes aimed at fostering development and supporting local farmers.

To further enhance community engagement and awareness of government schemes under HADP, the DDC directed concerned officers to organize at least 50 outreach events in each block under Kissan Samprak Abhiyan 3rd. These events will serve as a platform to educate local communities on the benefits of HADP and other available government programs, ensuring that all residents are informed and can actively participate in these schemes.

The DDC emphasized that these initiatives will help reach even the most remote areas, empowering residents to fully utilize the support provided.

In addressing the committee, Minga Sherpa reiterated the district administration’s vision of fostering a prosperous and self-sufficient agricultural community. “By approving these applications, we are making significant progress toward empowering our farmers and strengthening rural livelihoods. Our aim is to ensure that every farmer has access to the resources and knowledge necessary to thrive,” stated the DDC.
He also emphasized the need for continued collaboration across departments to address challenges and ensure uninterrupted progress towards the district’s development goals.
