DODA: District Development Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Mahajan, today chaired a meeting of the officers of Rural Development Department (RDD) here in the conference hall of DC office to review the work done under flagship scheme Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Grameen.
The DDC appreciated the RDD for achieving ODF Plus status in all the 443 villages in the district. He urged the officers to take every needful step to make all the 443 villages as Model Villages. He stressed on making Swachhta a sustainable campaign by involving PRIs and local people.
Vishesh Mahajan, called for diligent implementation and monitoring of Door-to-Door waste-collection operations in the district. The BDOs have been asked to use magisterial powers in the implementation of Swachhta initiatives in rural areas. DDC also stressed on enhancing the use of segregation sheds created across the district.
He further instructed for extensive IEC activities in educational institutions, in villages, during public gatherings, and in Public Transport through Pamphlets, Posters, Gingles, Nokad Nataks etc to create public awareness for cleanliness.
He impressed upon the officers to circulate a small animated film on Swachata in social media for sensitising people and awaring them of advantages of cleanliness.
The BDOs were asked to circulate the contact numbers of officials of the agency hired for door to door collection among the general public.
During the meeting, all the indicators wrt the Swach bharat Campaign were discussed and necessary instructions in this regard were given.
Further, the details given under Aspiring, Rising, and Model villages were given as 144, 198, and 101 villages, respectively.
The BDOs were directed to act tough on the people who are found involved in littering in and around the public places. All the BDOs have been vested with the powers of Executive Magistrates under CrPC, 1973 which can be used to impose a fine on the defaulters.
It was mandated that the Rural Development Department is the lifeline of rural areas and has to uplift the living conditions of the rural areas. The DDC urged upon the BDOs to demonstrate their desire and commitment in implementing Swach Bharat Mission Grameen in toto with sincerity and with dedication.
DDC directed all BDOs to visit their concerned areas regularly and ensure the implementation of SBM on the ground.
The meeting was also attended by ADDC Doda, ACD Doda, ACP Doda, DPO Doda, and all the BDOs of the district.
