Focus on Timely Completion of Schemes and Relief for Rain-Affected Areas
RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a detailed review meeting at Dak Bungalow to assess the restoration of water supply schemes.
During the meeting, the DDC stressed the importance of establishing public stand posts in the most affected areas to ensure uninterrupted access to drinking water. He also reviewed water supply disruptions caused by power outages and directed concerned officers to submit a list of affected areas to the Executive Engineer, PDD, to ensure scheduled pumping operations.
The DDC conducted a scheme-wise review of all ongoing projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). He instructed ADC Kalakote to investigate delays in the Jigni scheme and resolve issues delaying allotment at Bhawani A Panchayat. He noted that pump rooms for nine schemes remain incomplete and directed officers to expedite their construction.
Additionally, the DDC instructed all ADCs and SDMs to personally inspect the progress of JJM works in their areas at least once every fortnight to speed up execution. He emphasized resolving minor issues delaying near-completion schemes and directed that all completed projects be certified by the respective Gram Sabhas.
