SANNA, Yemen: The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Yemen’s Houthi-controlled capital, Sanaa, and al-Jawf province on Wednesday has risen to 46, with 165 others injured, the Houthi-run health ministry reported late Thursday. Among the casualties are 11 women and five children, while 29 women and 31 children are among the injured, many of whom are in critical condition, the ministry added.

On Wednesday, Israel stated that its air force had targeted missile launchers, military camps, and the media headquarters of Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea. In response, Sarea denied the presence of missile launchers at the media facility and accused Israel of striking civilian areas and residential homes.

The Houthi movement, which controls much of northern Yemen, pledged to continue attacks on Israel in retaliation and to advocate for an end to the war and the blockade on Palestinians in Gaza. On Thursday, the group claimed responsibility for additional missile and drone strikes, which Israel said were successfully intercepted.
