Doda: Police on Monday said that a newborn female infant was found dead at Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, following which an FIR has been registered.
According to sources, on September 28, 2025, around 4:00 pm, the body of a female infant, estimated to be around 5–6 months old, was discovered abandoned in the bathroom of the Emergency Ward at GMC Doda.
Taking cognizance, Police Post District Hospital (PP DH) Doda registered FIR No. 221/2025 under Section 94 of the BNS.
The Investigating Officer, accompanied by the FSL team and a crime photographer, visited the site and completed necessary legal and scientific formalities. The body was taken into custody for medico-legal examination.
Police said that investigation into the case is underway and further legal action will follow as per law.
