Indian Defence Forces Committed to Reforms and Readiness: CDS Gen. Anil Chauhan

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan reaffirmed that the Indian Armed Forces remain firmly committed to continuous reforms, modernisation and operational readiness to meet emerging security challenges. He said the forces are steadily adapting to the evolving nature of warfare and strengthening jointness across the Army, Navy and Air Force.

General Chauhan highlighted that ongoing reforms are aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving integration and ensuring that the armed forces are equipped to respond swiftly to any contingency. He noted that capability development, technological advancement and restructuring initiatives are being pursued with a long-term strategic vision.

The CDS emphasised that the defence forces are focusing on indigenisation, innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies to build a more self-reliant and future-ready military. He added that the government’s support for modernisation programmes has further accelerated progress in critical areas.

General Chauhan stated that the armed forces continue to maintain high levels of preparedness along all frontiers and remain vigilant against any threat to national security. He reiterated that reforms and readiness go hand in hand, ensuring that India’s defence apparatus remains robust, agile and capable of safeguarding the nation’s interests.
