New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday said they arrested two Nigerian nationals from Uttam Nagar and seized 248 grams of cocaine, along with fake passports and visas.

The accused, identified as Chukwu Andrew (48) and Kone Pius Daniel (43), both from Lagos, have also been booked for overstaying in India. According to police, the duo allegedly supplied drugs to students and affluent residents in Dwarka and Uttam Nagar.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a location in Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, on August 24 and arrested Andrew with 135 grams of cocaine. During questioning, Andrew revealed he had been living in India since 2009 despite his visa expiry, and was introduced to the drug trade by another Nigerian, identified as Saint, who was deported six months ago.

Following Andrew’s disclosure, police arrested Daniel on August 27 from Om Vihar while he was attempting to deliver cocaine. A total of 113 grams was recovered from him.

Authorities said efforts are underway to trace the wider network behind the smuggling operation.
