SHOPIAN: District Election Officer (DEO) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today convened a meeting here to discuss issues aimed at strengthening the electoral process.
Various issues including appointment of BLAs for polling stations, Roll discrepancies, details of party offices, promoting ethical voting, rationalisation of polling stations were discussed.
DEO advised all the recognised political parties to identify and appoint BLAs in all polling stations to assist the BLOs in receiving claims/ objections during summary rivision of electoral rolls so that no voter can be left behind.
The representatives of political parties were also informed that any discrepancies of Electoral Roll should be brought into the notice of concerned EROs, AEROs and BLOs.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; Dy. DEO, Jahangir Ahmed; ERO-37 Shopian (ACR), Shakoor Ahmad Dar, representatives of various political parties.
