Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary Reviews Progress of Sanat Nagar Flyover Project
SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today visited the under-construction Sanat Nagar Flyover to take an on-spot assessment of the ongoing works and overall progress of the project.
He was accompanied by MLA Chanpora, Mushtaq Ahmad Guroo; Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer, and other senior officers of the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department.


Reviewing the work in detail, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of construction and ensure the project’s timely completion so that the much-awaited flyover can be dedicated to public use within this month. He said the project is of vital importance for decongesting traffic and improving road connectivity in Srinagar city.
Choudhary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing all ongoing and languishing projects across Jammu and Kashmir in a time-bound manner. “Several projects that had been pending for years have now been completed, including the Qamarwari Bridge, while many others are nearing completion. Simultaneously, new initiatives such as the widening of Boulevard Road are being undertaken to further enhance road infrastructure and public convenience,” he said.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected the Nowgam Bridge to review its condition and directed the engineers to carry out immediate repair and maintenance work to ensure smooth traffic movement.
He appreciated the dedication of the executing agencies and urged them to continue working with commitment and responsibility to ensure that all developmental works are completed within the stipulated timelines.
