POONCH: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people on the joyous occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.
In his message, the Deputy Commissioner said that Diwali symbolizes the victory of good over evil and the triumph of truth, reflecting the light of virtue that dispels darkness and negativity from society. He emphasized that the festival inspires everyone to embrace harmony, compassion, and a righteous way of life.
The DC prayed for the well-being and prosperity of all citizens, expressing hope that this Diwali would usher in renewed happiness, enthusiasm, and optimism, along with good health and success for the people of the district.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner visited various market areas in Poonch town to interact with residents and assess on-ground preparations and safety measures ahead of the festivities. He appealed to the public to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly manner and avoid activities that may harm the environment.
