DGP Nalin Prabhat reviews security, anti-terror operations in Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban districts

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Friday reviewed the security situation and ongoing anti-terror operations in the hilly districts of Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar, according to an official statement.

During his visit to Bhaderwah and Batote, the DGP stressed the need to eliminate both existing and newly formed terrorist outfits operating from the higher reaches of these areas. He also called for strengthening the intelligence network and ensuring the success of counter-terror operations.

At the Range Police Headquarters in Batote, the DGP assessed the overall security scenario, law and order situation, anti-terror initiatives, and administrative preparedness in the three districts. He was briefed by Deputy Inspector General Shridhar Patil and other senior district police officers.

A detailed review meeting was also held in Bhaderwah to evaluate deployment arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra and assess the status of counter-terrorist measures.

Commending the efforts of the civil and police administration in facilitating the smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra, the DGP reiterated the need for a robust intelligence framework, effective operations on the ground, and continued support for police personnel.

He placed particular focus on identifying and neutralizing newly emerging terror groups and dismantling overground networks supporting anti-national elements.

The DGP also highlighted the importance of enhanced inter-agency coordination to ensure lasting peace and security in the region, the official added.
