LG Manoj Sinha Addresses Mega Ex-Servicemen Rally in Jammu; Pays Glowing Tributes to Martyrs and Veterans
“Unwavering devotion to ex-servicemen is the cornerstone of my policies. For me, the land of veterans is no less than a pilgrimage site,” says LG Sinha
“Operation Sindoor sent a clear message to the world that every drop of an Indian’s blood will be avenged. No one can dare raise their eyes towards our nation,” he asserts
JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to the brave martyrs and felicitated ex-servicemen at a grand event marking the Diamond Jubilee of India’s victory in the 1965 war against Pakistan. The commemorative event was jointly organised by the Western Command and 26 Infantry Division in Jammu.
Addressing a mega rally of ex-servicemen, the Lieutenant Governor said the historic victory of 1965 and the recent Operation Sindoor stand as testaments to the courage, valour, and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces — among the strongest in the world.

Remembering the heroes of 1965, LG Sinha paid solemn homage to all martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in defence of India’s sovereignty and integrity.
“The land that nurtures our brave soldiers—the first line of defence against the terror state of Pakistan—is sacred,” he said. “Unwavering devotion to ex-servicemen is the fundamental foundation of my policies. For me, the land of veterans is no less than a pilgrimage site. Our veterans have played a pivotal role in driving economic growth, social transformation, and the resurgence of a glorious India.”
Recalling the indomitable spirit of the 26 Infantry Division during Operation Sindoor, LG Sinha lauded the army’s selfless service in safeguarding lives during recent natural disasters.
“Operation Sindoor delivered a strong message to the world — that we will avenge every drop of blood of our citizens. No one can dare look at our country with malice,” he declared.
Calling upon ex-servicemen to continue serving society, the Lieutenant Governor urged them to channel their leadership, discipline, and organisational skills into community service and civic initiatives.
“Our ex-servicemen are role models for the youth. They must guide the younger generation on the path of righteousness and instil in them the values of patriotism, discipline, and selfless service,” LG Sinha said.
He also appealed to all sections of society to honour the sacrifices of the nation’s defenders and ensure that veterans and families of martyrs live with dignity.
The event was attended by Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command; Lt Gen Rajan Sharawat, GOC, 9 Corps; Maj Gen Mukesh Bhanwala, GOC, 26 Infantry Division; Shri Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu; Lt Gen R.K.
