Beopar Mandal, Transport Association, and Other Stakeholders Pledge Cooperation with Administration
DODA: Deputy Inspector General of Police, DKR Range, Shridhar Patil, along with Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh and SSP Sandeep Kumar Mehta, convened a meeting today at the District Police Lines with representatives from Beopar Mandal, the Transport Association, prominent citizens, and civil society members of Doda.
The discussions focused on fostering mutual trust, maintaining harmony in the district, and addressing issues of public importance. The representatives assured their full support to the district administration in maintaining law and order and requested a phased lifting of restrictions under Section 163 BNSS to enable smooth functioning of government and private businesses, providing relief to the general public.
They highlighted the severe losses faced by residents due to recent flood-like conditions and emphasized the urgent need for restoration of essential services, including internet, transport, schools, and markets. Civil society members pledged continued cooperation to help stabilize the situation.
SSP Sandeep Mehta urged participants to remain vigilant against miscreants attempting to disrupt peace, emphasizing collective responsibility for maintaining law and order. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh assured that public concerns regarding the supply of essential commodities to Doda and Kishtwar would be resolved within 24 hours.
DIGP Shridhar Patil commended the people of Doda and other stakeholders for their role in preserving peace and communal harmony. He particularly urged the business community to activate and monitor CCTV systems, and requested shopkeepers, transport operators, and workers to remain alert against troublemakers.
Participants were informed that restrictions would be gradually eased. The reopening of shops, resumption of transport services, restoration of broadband and mobile internet, and reopening of schools will proceed in phases based on the ground situation.
The administration emphasized the importance of constant coordination with stakeholders to restore normalcy as a top priority.
