Rajouri:In a continued effort to support and strengthen ties with local communities in remote and high-altitude regions, the Indian Army conducted a humanitarian outreach program by distribution of high-quality sleeping bags to members of the Gujjar & Bakkarwal communities at Budhal in the Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir.
The initiative aimed to provide essential assistance to these nomadic tribes who frequently endure harsh weather conditions during their seasonal migration. The sleeping bags, specifically designed for cold climates, will enhance the comfort and safety of the community members as they navigate difficult terrains in extreme temperatures.
This outreach programme reaffirms the Indian Army’s commitment to the welfare of local population, especially in remote areas with limited access to basic amenities. Local leaders and residents expressed heartfelt gratitude acknowledging the Indian Army’s constant support and empathetic approach to addressing ground realities. The Indian Army remains dedicated to fostering peace, security and cooperation through sustained civic action and goodwill initiatives in the region.
