Doda: Indian Army has been actively engaging with the community addressing their concerns and providing assistance. In its continuous endeavour to improve basic amenities, various projects have been undertaken for the locals.
With an aim to help the Gujjar and Bakkarwal, Indian Army at Gwari, Doda has distributed Solar lights and Power Banks to the Gujjar and Bakkarwal community under Operation Sadhbhavana on 07 Jul 2025. Empowering the Gujjar & Bakkarwal community with basic lighting infrastructure and enhancing their safety and mobility. Distribution of Solar lights and Power Banks will enhance safety and security in the community especially at night by providing reliable lighting.
This is particularly important for nomadic community like Gujjar & Bakkarwal who often live in remote areas with limited access to electricity. Solar lights and Power Banks can be particularly useful providing a reliable source of energy that can be easily transported and used in different location. Power banks will enable them to charge their mobile phones and connected with their families during their movement.
The Indian Army plans to continue its efforts to support the Gujjar & Bakkarwal community exploring way to address their need and promote their welfare. This gesture of the Indian Army will certainly strength bonds of friendship between Army and less privileged community of Gujjar and Bakkarwal. A total of 60 Gujjar and Bakkarwal benefited from the event. The event was well received by the local community. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support and shared how this initiative would bring improvement to their daily life during migration.
