RAMBAN: Aligning with the nationwide initiative, the School Education Department today launched Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 across all schools in Ramban district. The fortnight-long campaign, running from today until September 30, 2025, aims to instill a culture of cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental responsibility among students.

The district-wide programme began with a Swachhata Pledge, taken simultaneously by all participating schools. The inaugural day saw enthusiastic participation from over 800 schools, with more than 47,630 students and 3,000 teachers actively involved.

Planned activities for the campaign include cleanliness drives within school premises, promoting hand-washing and hygiene awareness among students and local communities, and organizing painting, essay, and quiz competitions focused on cleanliness and waste management.

The initiative also emphasizes community participation, encouraging parents, panchayats, and other stakeholders to actively contribute to maintaining hygiene and sanitation standards.

The Chief Education Officer has urged all educational institutions to organize innovative and impactful activities throughout the fortnight to ensure the campaign achieves tangible results.
