JAMMU: To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, a district-level “Sardar@150 Unity March” (Padyatra) was organised today from Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
The march was flagged off by Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, in the presence of IGP Bhim Sen Tuti, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr. Rakesh Minhas, DIG Shiv Kumar, and ADC Ansuya Jamwal. Director Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), J&K and Ladakh, Nisar Ahmed Butt also attended the event.
The Unity March passed through Gujjar Nagar Bridge and concluded at Hari Singh Park, witnessing enthusiastic participation from J&K Police and BSF bands, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, school students, and district administration officials. Participants took a pledge to uphold national unity, integrity, and sovereignty.
The event also featured patriotic performances by school students and artists from the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, along with colourful tableaus that added fervour to the celebration.
