Div Com Jammu reviews arrangements for launch of subsidised heli service to hilly districts from Nov 2

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the subsidized helicopter services scheduled to begin from November 2, 2025, for the hilly and snowbound districts of the Jammu Division.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, and Rajouri, along with the Director Tourism, representatives from the Civil Aviation Department, J&K, and the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Jammu.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to designate Nodal Officers for managing ticket bookings in their respective districts and to ensure all necessary arrangements, including ticket counters, cleanliness, and security at the helipads, are in place.

The to-and-fro heli services will operate on routes including Jammu–Poonch, Jammu–Mendhar, Jammu–Rajouri, Jammu–Doda, Jammu–Kishtwar, and intra-Kishtwar sectors.

The Divisional Commissioner also instructed the Tourism Department to publish district-wise and route-wise fare charts for public convenience. The Deputy Commissioners were asked to ensure wide publicity of the subsidized heli services, particularly to facilitate travel during the winter months.

Meanwhile, the representative of AAI Jammu was directed to make adequate arrangements for helicopter parking and ticket counters at Jammu Airport.
