Div Com Kashmir directs survey to identify traffic bottlenecks in Srinagar
SRINAGAR: To ensure smooth traffic flow in Srinagar, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today ordered the formation of a committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and instructed concerned departments to conduct a survey to identify traffic bottlenecks.
Making the announcement while chairing a meeting of the Multi-Disciplinary Committee for Srinagar, the Div Com said the committee would include the Commissioner of SMC, SSP Traffic Srinagar, and heads of relevant stakeholder departments.
He emphasized the need for a scientific study to pinpoint traffic congestion points and explore technological solutions to streamline traffic movement. Officers were instructed to submit actionable recommendations within a set timeframe.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo; Commissioner SMC Fazlul Haseeb; VC LCMA; SSP Traffic Srinagar and SSP Traffic Rural; RTO Kashmir; RTC Manager; and officials from the Tourism, R&B, Housing & Urban Development, and Home Departments.
