During the meeting, a series of steps for comprehensive enhancement of the city’s traffic system were discussed. The JMC was instructed to demarcate dedicated parking zones with yellow lines and tender their operation with the stipulation that fixed parking rates be clearly displayed for public convenience.

The Traffic Department was directed to intensify enforcement of traffic regulations, particularly focusing on curbing unauthorized roadside parking, parking outside banquet halls, and violations along one-way roads.

The Chief Engineer, PWD, was asked to expedite the repair and reconstruction of the damaged approach road leading to the fourth Tawi Bridge at Bhagwati Nagar to ensure both tubes become fully operational at the earliest.

The Deputy Commissioner Jammu was directed to closely monitor the implementation of all identified measures in coordination with stakeholder departments to ensure visible improvement in traffic management.

Emphasizing the need for meticulous planning, the Divisional Commissioner urged all departments to focus on key interventions such as road widening, development of dedicated parking spaces, rotary improvements, and other infrastructure upgrades to ensure smooth and congestion-free traffic movement across Jammu City.
